Treo 650 available through Sprint Dec 2004

Treonauts Spends 1 Hour with the Treo 650 In Hand! "OK, in my previous post I had the opportunity to throw my little tantrum about the camera, bluetooth and memory issues and now that I've been able to get that steam out of my system and regain some composure I'm ready to let you know about the absolutely AWESOME experience of having had a Treo 650 in my hand for over one hour just moments ago... (I am unfortunately going straight into another meeting now and therefore will only be providing some pictures for the moment)." I don't blame them for throwing a tantrum... I've been doing it for months (but I think mine was more for the addition of wifi...which I still want.

Zipit Wireless Messenger Device

Zipit Wireless Messenger Device Provides Portable IM @ CHAITGEAR: "From a trio of companies (including K-Byte and Lite-On), the new Zipit Wireless Messenger is a small handheld portable WiFi IM device. If your kids or teens need quick and easy WiFi access to IM, this might be the holiday gift of the season. Oh, and no service fees!" Yes, I will be getting one of these, but it still cheeses me off that they just won't PUT IT IN MY TREO.

Boing Boing: How to Lose Treo 650 Customers, by Sprint

Boing Boing: How to Lose Treo 650 Customers, by Sprint "How to Lose Treo 650 Customers, by Sprint The much-anticipated new Treo 650 was unveiled by PalmOne today, and BoingBoing reader Marc Hedlund says, [It has] a bunch of new features, including Bluetooth. Unfortunately the rocket scientists at Sprint decided to turn off Bluetooth for dialup from your laptop (though other networks allow it). Why? Well, they want you to buy *another* $250 product from them (their "connection card") so they can charge you as though you own two cell phones. The phone looks great -- too bad Sprint decided its customers are idiots. I'm a Sprint user, and I'm a prime example of a likely upgrade candidate for the Treo 650. I don't use a PDA phone right now, and have been thinking the 650 or something like it might make blogging and communicating on-the-road a whole lot easier. But dumb-ass pricing moves like this one are making me seriously consider a carrier switch."
